Have YOU joined ! YOU are important in this fight! JOIN NOW! The State NAACP Convention will be held in Burlington, Iowa on the 4th, 5th and 6th of October. We hope to have a large representation. Keep this in mind and make plans to attend if it is at all possible ! CALLING ALL MEMBERS !!! NAACP MASS RALLY September 8, 1963 7:30 P.M. Second Baptist Church Be prompt! Everyone is invited ! Tentative plans for a March and subsequent meeting with the Mayor will be submitted to the branch at the Mass Rally for their approval ! All opinions are wanted ... and needed! Be there ! Let your voice be heard! The March on Washington signaled the beginning of a new era in the struggle for civil rights. It also pointed out the fact that each of us have a responsibility as individuals in attaining first-class citizenship. As we fight for our rights with a renewed zeal and vigor.... lets work to qualify for jobs... lets participate in community affairs.. and let our conduct be beyond reproach! We are not alone ... but in a fight which involves all mankind! WE have a dream.. and We shall overcome ! University of Iowa Libraries. Iowa Women's Archives
