ANNUAL DECEMBER MEMBERSHIP MEETING SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17, 1967 5:30 PM CITY HALL 8th and Avenue E THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS There is something about the Christmas time, Something in the spirit of it That sweeps it clean of the dust of the other days And hallows it. Something that probes the depths of the human soul. That urges one on to a higher goal. To a life more worthy of it. There's something about the Christmas time, Something in the spirit of it That defies the power of prose or rhyme To fathom it. Something that breathes of the time when discord shall cease. Something in the spirit of it. When men shall hear and heed the call To the gracious gift of God. Of peace, peace on earth good will to all. -Charles H. Daniels We all know how difficult it has been to get funds for the anti-poverty programs. We also know how very important the program is for the children who are participating in it. It is for this very reason that all of us should support the Benefit Basketball game which will be played, here on December 18, 1967, at 8 PM in the Aquinas High School Gym. The proceeds will be used to make the needed improvements on the Head Start Community Center. Five members of the St. Louis Cardinal Football team will join five members of a local "Y" team to play Coaches and Teachers of the Fort Madison School system.
