10 Keeping up with science fiction in the army is quite a job . About all I've been able to do is keep up with Astounding and Unknown , with but an occasional look at one of the other mags. And there's no place to store mags of course, so once read they have to be thrown away. Which makes it pretty hard for me to discuss science fiction, if such a thing is supposed to be done in a science fiction fan chain letter . Nobody else bothers with it, so I guess I won't either. (( !%#$#!! -BT )) Fanzines too, are hard to keep up with. A few days ago I got the fall FAPA mailing, after it had followed me to three different fields and eight changes of address. It's a good thing the envelope was large, else there wouldn't have been room enough to record all those forwarding addresses. Why is it that I change station every time a fanzine is mailed to me/ (( Viton cussedness! -BT )) Outside of the FAPA mailing and a consignment of fanzines for fans in service, I haven't gotten a fanmag for three months. But I am still interested and would appreciate correspondance. So any of you who cares o write, please do so. And now I had better get this thing in the mails to the next number on the list. (( That's what you thot , bud! -BT )) I'm letting the one I wrote a month ago stay as is. I sent it to (John L.) Chapmen, the next on this list, bu ti seems he is no longer at that address. The letter finally came back, and since your name follows Chapman's, I'm sending it to you this time. I'd advise against sending it any further. The way locations change in this army it's doubtful if any of the rest of the fellows on the list are still at the places named. You may have seen a more recent list of addresses altho I haven't. Otherwise I think it would be best to send the letter back to Tucker for disposition. My furlough went thru as expected. I addition to quite a few other and more important things I managed to write several pages for my FAPA mag. D.B. Thompson is also writing several pages for the same mag but his stencils hadn't arrived at the time I left. I'll send you a cpy of the finished product when I get some of them. You might find Thompson's part interesting. (( Slightly modest, isn't he? -BT )) Things here at Robins Field are about the same as ever. I'm still trying to get away from my office job, but without a great deal of success. But I expect to make Sergeant in a couple of weeks, so it isnt too bad. I'll let Tucker know what progress his chain letter is making --- I was going to write him anyhow. Let me know how you are getting along. Yours, Lynn #8 (Brazier) Ten..shun!
