Seventy-six May 12,1918. Ma Cherie, - This is the close of Mother's Day. I have written to both my mothers to try to tell them how fond I am of them and how proud and happy to represent them over here. Writing home to mother was the big event to-day from the first line trenches back to the base. I reckon the mails will be mos' nigh swamped with the output of letters, but special arrangements have been made for their collection and expediting even to assignment of a fast ship to carry them home.
