132 August 1, 1918 My Dearest, I'm a pretty lucky devil. Yesterday came three letters from you and tonight two more. One of tonight's was written July 12 which is only 20 days ago, the shortest time in which a letter has reached me in weeks. And I think some more must be due soon. The oldest of this lot was sent July 5. The next preceding that is June 28. Probably there will be another or two of the time between those dates. Do you know how much I love your letters? I guess not. I certainly couldn't fight the war without them. There is in them such a nice, flattering testimony to the fact that you consider your husband as
