Aug 5th, '18 Dearest Conger,- This morning is a very joyfull one, and the mail brought us three letters from you. It must be that some have been lost since the last we received was on the 4th of July and it is now a month and a day. I can tell you we were getting anxious and Daphne was becoming somewhat low spirited in fact when the mail came yesterday she wept copiously. (perhaps I shouldn't tell that).
