thank heaven. Since I took charge of all the administrative work I have had enough work to keep from being disgusted at least. And there is prospect that I may soon be busy. I know how to sympathize with you on the bad dream sort of thing you write about. I had one last night, though it shifted to plain incoherence and foolishness before it had tormented long. As for the one you had on the night of July 5 I can't see any connection between it and reality. It was on July 5, I believe, that I wrote you the long letter about my trip into the Vosges. And that evening I ate dinner, spent an hour in the office, and went to bed to read and sleep altogether peacefully.
