2nd lap - I stopped to do my evening work and have dinner. We had as guests tonight a Spanish general, two majors, and a captain, and Major Lang, the American military attaché to Madrid. Major Lang was at the War College when you and I were there, so I knew him. The general and the captain had lived in American and spoke our language pretty well. The captain in particular was very entertaining. He is rather blond, and would easily pass as an American. The majors were the dark, heavy moustacioed type. By listening intently to their speech tonight I found I could catch a word here and there. I believe it would not be hard to learn, and I'd like to do it, because it certainly is pretty in
