brings tidings that her husband has been made a member of Pershing's personal staff, with the rank etc - same as other paper. Then it raves a little about me, and the says: Mrs Reynolds presented a musical comedy of her own composition to the Red Cross, from which more than 2000.00 has been realized. Can you beat it? I've wondered whether some of that mess should be set right, or just let it die down. I'm going to talk to Ernest about it this afternoon. We are taking supper over to the park. He was at the bottom of the first write up, because he tho't a little publicity would pay. I guess that part is right. It is quite probable that I shall do some teaching at Coe this winter, altho we're not settled in for sure; but one of the "Deans" seemed very anxious that I should have the work.
