OM 100-4095 [Confidential x'd out] Status of Healt (U) According to [redacted] the subject is considered to be in good health. b2 b7D CONNECTIONS WITH THE COMMUNIST PARTY OR OTHER REVOLUTIONARY GROUPS (U)Information Concerning Admission to the Revolutionary Group Including Sponsors, Etc. [redacted] of known reliability, advised that subject has been an active member of the Communist Party since her arrival in Des Moines, Iowa in 1946. [redacted] also advised that the subject was head of the Des Moines Branch of the Communist Party located in Des Moines, Iowa. b2 b7D [redacted] of known reliability, advised on May 21, 1947 that Elizabeth Flynn, Treasurer, 35 East 12th Street, New York City, New York, the place occupied by the Communist Party, received a letter dated March 19, 1947 signed by Stanley and Edna Griffin. This letter stated as follows: (U) "Please find enclosed the first part of our contribution to the defense fund of our Party, a true and steadfast friend of the Negro people. " (U) This letter included a $5.00 contribution. This exhibit is being maintained in the 1(a) exhibit file of instant case. (U) b2 b7D [redacted] also advised on February 4, 1949 that the subject had renewed her subscription to the Daily Worker, an East Coast Communist paper. (U) History of Activity In, Attendance At Meetings Of, and Positions Held in the Subversive Movement With Which the Subject is Identified. b2 b7D Informant [redacted] advised on January 19, 1948 that the subject attended a district meeting of District #32 of the Communist Party. -3-
