OM 100-4095 ADMINISTRATIVE DATA The following information was furnished by informant [Redacted] and is being placed on the Administrative Page due to the limited number of persons present when the conversations took place which would possibly permit the identification of Informant if known to other sources. [b2] During the last week in November, 1951, according to [Redacted] EDNA GRIFFIN [b7C] received a letter from [Redacted] Iowa, stating that a [b7D] lawyer in Sioux City, Iowa, could get [Redacted] a parole for $500 based on some new evidence. [Redacted] a negro, was convicted of a rape charge from Sioux City, Iowa, and is now in Iowa State Penitentiary at Fort Madison, Iowa. On the trip to Sioux City, Iowa, on December 8, 1951, on which [Redacted] drove the car and was accompanied by EDNA, [Redacted] and his wife, [Redacted] talked freely concerning FRED STOVER and the Farmers Union paper. The Korean situation was discussed and according to [Redacted] EDNA, and [Redacted] follow the party lines as regards the war in Korea being a capitalistic aggression proposition and that the United Nations should not be there. EDNA GRIFFIN also indicated to [Redacted] that [Redacted] will possibly organize an association in Sioux City, Iowa, under the name of "League to Protect Minorities" under the guidance of EDNA GRIFFIN. After the trip to Sioux City, Iowa, on December 22, 1951, upon returning to Des Moines, Iowa, and arriving at the home of EDNA GRIFFIN, [Redacted] said a report should be made to [Redacted] and FRED STOVER, [Redacted] also indicated that he was broke and [b2] EDNA said she would call one [Redacted] and that this fellow would help [Redacted] [b7C] [b7D]. At the meeting at [Redacted] OTTO ANSTROM headed the discussion and confined it mostly to the need of someone to coordinate the activities of the various groups such as the most effective manner to use the Packing House Union and the Farmers Union. He also said to exploit the [Redacted] case as much as possible and to move on any issue of JIM CROW. On December 25, 1951, at Christmas dinner at the home of the subject, one [Redacted] was at the dinner and read the typewritten report that [b7C] had been made up concerning the trip to Sioux City, Iowa, on the [Redacted] case. -4-
