It is to be noted that GIL GREEN is one of the eleven Communists convicted at New York in 1949, for advocating the overthrow of the Government of the United States. b2 b7C b7D [blank box] advised SA [blank box] by written report on July 24, 1951, that [blank box] [blank box] Chicago [blank box] the Hyde Park-Kenwood Chapter of the Civil Rights Congress as of May 9, 1951. The original report is located in A) 66-3566-1-B, 76, Chicago file. The Civil Rights Congress has been cited by the Attorney General as being a Communist organization withing the purview of Executive Order 9835. The October, 1951, Chicago telephone directory listed the telephone number DEarborn 2-2096 to one WALTER A. LEEDS, optometrist, 108 North State Street, Chicago with residence at [blank box] Chicago. The records of the Chicago office reflect no information identifiable with [blank box] b7c [handwritten] 0-1 to Omaha 6-25-52 (gap?) [blank box] Chicago, telephone MUseum 4-7645, was contacted by SA [blank box] under pretext on December 11, 1951, and she advised that [blank box] negro, was self employed, and presently resides at that address.
