OM 100-4095 OTTO EDVOLD ANSTROM , according to [blank box] and Confidential Informant [blank box] of known reliability, [blank box] for the Communist in the State of Iowa and Nebraska. b2 b7C b7D According to [blank box] is a member of the Communist Party in Iowa. On May 5, 1952, although EDNA GRIFFIN was not present at her home at 1008 - 3rd Street, [blank box] and OTTO EDVOLD ANSTROM were present at the house. On [blank box] and OTTO EDVOLD ANSTROM were present at the home of EDNA GRIFFIN. HOMER SYRES was also present at this meeting. b7C According to Confidential Informant [blank box] of known reliability, HOMER AYRES is a member of the Communist Party and was a member (active) of the Communist Party through 1948 at least. [blank box] stated that [blank box] was not openly a Communist Party member but to a few was aknown member. On May 11, 1952, OTTO EDVOLD ANSTROM visited the home of EDNA GRIFFIN. On May 13, 1952, OTTO ANSTROM visited the home of EDNA GRIFFIN. On May 16, 1952, EDNA GRIFFIN returned from Sioux City, Iowa where she had gone on May 13, 1952. Information was received from [blank box] that the trial concerning [blank box] at Sioux City, Iowa, with regards to suit against the local police there for involving [blank box] by an arrest for prostitution had been lost. b2 b7C b7D On June 1, 1952, subject was visited by OTTO ANSTROM and [blank box ] from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. [blank box] of the progressive Party in the State of Iowa and according to [blank box] is a member of the Communist Party. [blank box] also visited EDNA GRIFFIN on June 1, 1952. According to Confidential Informant [blank box] [blank box] is a member of the Communist Party. On June 12, 1952, subject was visited by OTTO ANSTROM, and [blank box] [blank box] and [blank box] b2 b7C b7D [blank box] was described by [blank box] as a Communist Party member. -2-
