(U) [handwritten] IOWA [blank box] advised that on February 4, 1952, ANSTROM was present at the home of the subject and was present again on February 8, 1952. (U) b2 b7C b7D [blank box] advised that on February 9, 1952 the following persons were present at the subject's home: [blank box] FRED STOVER, [blank box] (U) [blank box] and his wife, [blank box] (U) [handwritten] IOWA [blank box] advised] that he believes [blank box] is a member of the Communist Party. He stated [blank box] is a member of the Communist Party. He advised that FRED STOVER, president of the Iowa Farmers Union, Plaza Hotel, Des Moines, Iowa, is of definite Communist sentiments and associates with persons known to [blank box] to be (U) members of the Communist Party.(U) b2 b7C b7D [blank box] advised] that on February 15, 1952 the subject went to Sioux City, and returned February 18, 1952, in regard to the [blank box] case. [blank box] advised that ANSTROM was at the subject's home on February 29, and on March 3, 1952. (U) (U) [blank box] advised that ANSTROM and [blank box] were present at the home of the subject. [blank box] advised that on May 5, 1052, though EDNA GRIFFIN was not present at her home, 1108 Third Street, Des Moines, Iowa, there were present, ANSTROM and [blank box] (U) [blank box] advised that on May 10, 1952, ANSTROM and [blank box] were present at the subject's home and that she was there at the time. In addition there was present, [blank box] of the Iowa Union Farmer, newspaper of the Iowa Farmers Union, Plaza Hotel, Des Moines, Iowa (U) (U) [blank box] advised] that [blank box] is a member of the Communist Party through 1948 at least. [blank box] stated] that [blank box] is not openly a Communist Party member but to a few is a known member. (U) [blank box] advised that ANSTROM visited the home of the subject on May 11 and 13, 1952. (U) (U) [blank box] advised] that on May 16, 1952, the cubject went to Sioux City in behalf of the [blank box] case but that the case was lost. b2 b7C b7D [blank box] advised that OTTO ANSTROM and WILLIAM SMITH, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, visited the subject.
