(U) b2 b7C b7D (U) [blank box] advised that on June 12, 1952, the subject was visited at her home by ANSTROM [blank box] and [blank box] (U) [blank box] described [blank box] as a member of the Communist Party. (U) (U) [blank box] advised] that the subject attended the National Progressive Party Convention held in Chicago, Illinois, July 4-6, 1952. [blank box] advised that on July 19, 1952, Mrs. CHARLOTTE BASS, Los Angeles, California, Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Progressive Party arrived in Des Moines, Iowa at the Municipal Airport. Those meeting Mrs. BASS included the subject, as well as [blank box] (U) b2 b7C b7D [handwritten] IOWA IOWA (U) [ Confidential informant [blank box] of known reliability advised that [blank box] [blank box] is a concealed Communist Party member. [handwritten] IOWA (U) [blank box] [ described [blank box] as a person sympathetic to the Communist cause. [blank box] stated that he believed [blank box] was a member of the Communist Party (U) [blank box] advised that during the stay of Mrs. BASS in Des Moines, that the subject was in constant contact with Mrs. BASS and helped to arrange her speeches and interviews. Mrs. BASS left Des Moines, on July 25, 1952. (U) b2 b7C b7D [blank box] advised that during the first week of October, 1952, ANSTROM was at the home of the subject. (U) Confidential Informant [blank boxd] of known reliability, advised the minor daughters of the subject [blank box] received copies of the " Daily Worker" from September 17 to October 15, 1951. They also received " The Worker" from September 22 to October 15, 1951. (U) The "Daily Worker" is an east coast Communist newspaper. " The Worker" is the Sunday edition of the " Daily Worker" and is an east coast communist newspaper.
