Their was a murder in The Country and there was talking about a linchin Ruffus and His white friend decided thay would not sTand by and see a linchin thay got togather the linchers were to meet in Montrose, Matilda did not no Ruffus Had promised to be with them Ruffus was a man if He made up His mind it was final and He did not want any body to try and talk Him out of it so He Had not Told Matilda but when He Took down his musket Ruffus was cleaning His old musket 2 barrel shotgun and He Was taking so long to Clean it Matilda ask Him what he was doing with so many shells so He Had to tell Her she tried to talk Him out of it but Could not do it He
