PAGE 45 BUXTON. scrapper which was used for smoothing Dance Hall floors. The squeezed out about one and a half ounce of dirty fluid and I am sure until this day that it was not enough to test with a hydrometer but I never complained and paid $1000.00 dollars Court Cost and $500.00 Lawyer fees. What they really wanted were the producing machines but I had Frank Mitchell to drive like his life depended on it so he got to Buxton 15 minutes before the Federal men arrived and told them that I wanted those two big stills to be taken at least one quarter of a mile distance from home but what they really wanted was to get those stills and place them on exibition in the Court House yard at Albia to show the people what an excellent service they had done fo the State of Iowa. This was really the last year of dear old Buxton; the Ghost Town. I saw her live; Thrive; Florish; Wither and die and hoping through all eternity that she may forever rest in peace.
