Correction for Diurnal Aberration. If we take into consideration the diurnal aberration, the correction to t in Mayer's formula is 0[superscript][?s?][/superscript].021 cos [?symbol?] sec delta ; and since the diurnal aberration causes the star to be seen too late the correction must be subtracted. Then Mayer's formula becomes alpha = t + (t - t[subscript]0[/subscript])r[superscript]s[/superscript] + delta t + Aa + Bb +- Cc - 0[superscript]s[/superscript].021 cos [?symbol?] . C . or alpha = t + (t - t[subscript]0[/subscript])r[superscript]s[/superscript] + delta t + Aa + Bb +- Cc' where c' = /C -+ 0[superscript]s[/superscript].021 cos [?symbol?] . Thus when we neglect the correction for diurnal aberration we may consider it combined with the correction for collimation error. For [?symbol?] = 41 degrees 40', the correction [inserted]to [?r?s?][/inserted] for diurnal aberration is less than 0[superscript]s[/superscript].0157.
