First radials large, heptagonal, pointed below, varying in height but nearly uniform in width which is greater than the height. Second radials broad pentagonal, pointed below, nearly twice as wide as high. When perfect the body of the plate is produced above into a long narrow spine. Column composed of thick and thin joints alternating, comparatively small, elliptical in sections. Articulations between plates notched or striated. Geol. Pos. and Loc.
