P-C May 10, 1972 22 Arrested In Protest Overnight Twenty-two persons were arrested during Tuesday night's disturbances in Iowa City. Mark D. Peters, 20, North Libertty, was arrested for arson. Peters was arrested about 12:15 a.m. today when protesters set fire to a camper which was pushed off a truck at the intersection of Burlington Street and Riverside Drive. Two undercover police officers grabbed Peters and led him to a waiting highway patrol car. Douglas D. Peterson, 21, Davenport, was arrested for malicious injurhy to a building. Both are being held on a $10,000 bond. Five persons pleaded guilty this morning in Iowa City Police Court to disorderly conduct charges. They were: Lawrence Wimmer, 21, of 701 Mayflower Apartments; William Grimmer, 19, of 308 Rienow I; Ronald A. Rodgers, 20, of North 206 Hillcrest; John M. Bjarnstad, 19, of 228 1/2 East College Street; and John F. Ryan, 20, of 308 Church Street. Fine for the five was $105 each. The remaining 15 persons pled not guilty to the disorderly conduct charges. They were: Charles Eastham, 31, of 5332 Currier Hall; Thomas L. Hennings, 27, of 115 North Dubuque Street; Willard G. Eggers, 22, no address given, who was also fined $35 for unpaid parking tickets; Richard McGlaughlin, 24, Muscatine; William A. Bourlind, 18, North 206 Hillcrest; Stephen Beck, 20, of 42 South Currier Hall. Benjamin Clark, 19, North Liberty; Kenneth D. May, 20, of 718 Giblin Drive, who was also charged with obstructing an officer; Clarke F. Riechk, 19, of 24 North Van Buren Street; Gail Rodgers, 19, of 449 North Riverside Drive; Roger Day, Davenport; Ellen Rieck, 24, of 24 North Van Buren Street; John E. Van Blaircome, 19, Fairfield; Robert T. Yeager, 21, of 4611 Lakeside Apartments, two counts of disorderly dconduct; and a Fairfield, Iowa, juvenile. Bond was set at $105 for each charge. Late this morning friends were bailing out the arrested. Several persons have organized to try to raise money for those unable to pay the bond.
