TRASH BURNS--A plastic trash container was over-turned and set ablaze on the sidewalk entrance to the Pentacrest from Iowa Avenue and Clinton Street following efforts by demonstrators to block I-80 Thursday night. Many returned to the Pentacrest after they were routed from I-80 by tear gas. PARLEY--Phillip G. Hubbard, University of Iowa vice provost, and Capt. Lyle Dickinson of the Iowa Highway Patrol met in front of Old Capitol on the UI Pentacrest about midnight Thursday. The two briefly discussed the evening's activities and agreed to allow the crowd to remain on the Pentacrest as long as the demonstration remained peaceful.
