P-C 5/11/72 Trial for 15 Protesters Set Monday Trial for 15 persons who pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct charges stemming from Tuesday night's disturbances in Iowa City will be held Monday. The trials will begin in Iowa City Police Court at 9 a.m. Those charged are: Charles Eastham, 31, of 5332 Currier Hall; Thomas L. Hennings, 27 of 115 North Dubuque Street; Willard G. Eggers. 22. no address given; Richard McGlaughlin, 24, Muscatine; William A. Bourlind, 18, North 206 Hillcrest; Stephen Beck. 20, of 420 South Currier Hall. Benjamin Clark, 19, North Liberty; Kenneth D. May, 20, of 718 Giblin Drive, who is also charged with obstructing an officer; Clarke F. Rieck, 19, of 24 North Van Buren Street; Gail Rodgers, 19, of 449 North Riverside Drive; Roger Day, Davenport; Ellen Rieck, 24, of 24 North Van Buren Street; John E. Van Blaircome, 19, Fairfield; Robert T. Yeager, 21, of 4611 Lakeside Apartments; two counts of disorderly conduct. Five persons charged with disorderly conduct Tuesday night pleaded guilty Wednesday and paid $105 fines each. Preliminary hearings for two other persons will be Tuesday. They are Mark D. Peters, 20, North Liberty, arrested for arson, and Douglas D. Peterson, 21, Davenport arrested for malicious injury to a building. Both are being held on $10,000 bond. Three persons charged with malicious injury to a building stemming from last Thursday night's disturbance have had their cases transferred to District Courr from Police Court. They are Terrence G. Furlong, 20, Hillcrest; Jon P. Huntemer, 18, and Richard Pratt, 19, of 322 North Clinton Street. District Court Judge John L. Hyland allowed the defendants to be released on 10 per cent payment of their $10.000 bond and a promise to appear in court by signing personal cognizance forms. P-C 5/15/72 2 Plead Guilty In Disturbance Trials Set for 14 James Stepp, 18 of 528 North Gilbert Street, and Robert Matzner, 18 of 5208 Hillcrest, have pleaded guilty in Iowa City Police Court to charges stemming from disturbances Thursday night. Stepp pleaded guilty to criminal trespass and Matzner pleaded guilty to defacing public property. Each was fined $105. Trial for 14 other persons arrested Thursday night are set for this Thursday in Iowa City Police Court. Charged with criminal trespass are: Michael Herriot, 19, Ottumwa, richard Mullin, Sioux City; James Toler, 20, of 332 Ellis Avenue; and Sue Sackley, 19, of 1532 Burge Hall. Charged with disorderly conduct are: Beth Karson, 19 of 3224 Burge Hall; Robert Smith, 19, of 707 North Dubuque Street; Bill Sanger, no age given, 2709 Wayne Avenue; Linda Becker, 18, 3210 Burge Hall; Christine Molony, 18 of 2201 Burge Hall; Cindy Long, 19, of 3210 Burge Hall; Cathy McCarty, 20 of 5619 Kate Daum; Donald E. Hoss, 19, of Marshalltown; Russell Taylor, 19 of Bettendorf; and Gary Herdlicka, 22, of 38 Forestview Street. Betty Bulgar, no address or age given, was transferred to juvenile court on a charge of criminal trespass. Trial in Iowa City Police Court for seven persons arrested during Friday night';s disturbances is scheduled for Thursday. William G. Monohan Jr, 641 Rienow II, and Jay Honeycutt,Toledo, are charged with criminal trespass. Charged with disorderly conduct are: Jeff L. Cox, East 118 Hillcrest; Edward J. Bolden, 1130 Rienow II; Rodeny P. Miller, West 207 Hillcrest; Steve J. Henely, 1143 Rienow II and Larry R. Norby, 905 East Burlington Street. All were released on $105 bond.
