DMSR 10/15/72 p.1 (of 3) 'THE GLAMOUR OF PROTEST HAD VANISHED' U of I Freshman More Relaxed By Larry Eckholt (Register Staff Writer) IOWA CITY, IA - There is widespread agreement on campus here that the days of unrest which dominated the last five years at the University of Iowa (U of I) are over. Whether the campus is "calm," "apathetic," "passive," experiencing "a new kind of conservatism," or "turning inward" (some of the words used here to describe the mood at the U of I this fall) is another question. Waugh (AP Education Writer) BERKELEY, CALIF (AP) - The University of California Sproul Plaza, spawning ground of the student revolt of the '60s is as peaceful and serene as any parent, regent or person intent on studying could wish. Tranquility has settled over the huge Berkeley campus like a blanket of cooling fog. Across the nation, campuses such as Columbia, Yale, Chicago, Kansas and Wisconsin are much the same.
