ROHNER Of the Press-Citizen A hearing on a Dec. 9 protest at the University of Iowa ended Friday afternoon as students charged in the demonstration attempted to show University Hearing Officer Theodore Garfield why they gathered to protest the presence of a Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) recruiter on campus. The explanations came in the form of closing arguments offered by defendants and their lawyers after two days of testimony on the protest.
