Cherrie Moraga is co-editor of This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color. She has given key-note addresses, lectures, and workshops on Third World Feminism, Third World Women's Literature, Racism in the Women's Movement, Sexuality and Feminism, Teaching Lesbian Literature and the Working Class Lesbian in Lesbian Literature. Her work appears in The Coming Out Stories and Lesbian Poetry: An Anthology, as well as in numerous feminist periodicals. After receiving her M.A. in Feminist Writing/Studies from California State University, Cherrie taught women's studies at San Francisco State University and the University of Massachusetts at Boston. She is currently working on a collection of poetry. Educational materials will be available in the Hawkeye Room. These will include writings about Black Americans, Latinas, Indian Americans, Asian Americans and white racism. Bibliographies also will be distributed. 8:30 a.m. Registration - Hawkeye Room, IMU 9:00 a.m. Keynote Address: Cherrie Moraga - Hawkeye Room 10:30-12:30 p.m. Small Group Sessions -Rooms to be assigned at registration The small groups will give participants an opportunity to explore their feelings of racism through discussion and role-playing, as well as share ideas for future conferences and action. 12:30-1:30 p.m. Lunch 1:30 Reports from Small Group Sessions -Hawkeye Room 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Small Group Sessions (Continuation of morning sessions) 4:00 Reports from Small Group Sessions and Wrap-up of the day. Discussion of plans for continuation of the series -Hawkeye Room Goals Of The Conference: 1. How to function in a feminist environment and still maintain a cultural identity. 2. How to confront our own and other people's racism on a day-to-day basis. 3. How/why racism continues to work and its effects. 4. How to build alliances
