Collector Page 9 THE TRUTH THOUGH... by JACK CHAPMAN MISKE The following is an effort to show plainly that the fantasy magazines are, with the exception of one which is but on a slightly higher plane, definitely and beyond all doubt sensational pulps. The most unfortunate fact is, though, that despite the fact that there has been an elapse[?:] of twelve years since the first insurance of a science fiction magazine, and fifteen since that of the weird[?] representative, that daring[?] all what [?], instead of improving their lot, these magazines have degenerated unbelievably -- as any comparison of these from each peice[?] will plainly show. Understand, however, that this fact does not in the slighest -- at the present, at least -- influence me to denounce fantasy and all its [[?]] [[?]] as nitwits and fools. . I confess to bet[?] mildly [?] by [?] the hack stories, quite often. [[?]] for the occassional [[?]] that [[?]] for I read fantasy[?]; [[?]] mean [[?]] [[?]] fiction. This [[?]] from [[?]] the [[?]] I [[?]] of being [[?]]. However, it [[?]] in the hope of [[?]] of them, and in the meanwhile [[?]] society[?] of fellow fans very much, [[?]] to read fantasy.
