Page Eighteen -- S - F Collector -- [[underline]]Fantaglimmerings[[end underline]] (Continued from Page Four} "I didn't hear the Wellss program, being out in Baisley Park at the time, marooned on a thingus[?] in an aquaduct while Wollheim, Michel, & Leventmen threw rocks and debris at Jack Gillespie, Cyril Kornbluth & me . . . " And Mr. Wollheim condemns the Philadelphia fans for indulging in an occasional game of soft-ball!! Donnie, my boy, I sneer at you! Aside to Milt Rothman: [[underline]]now[[end underline]] what is your opinion of "the fans who think?" Caustic comment: more intelligent people than Wollheim have played base ball! It is said that Issac Asimov had to purchase a hat two sizes larger when AMAZING took his [[underline]]Marooned Off Vesta[[end underline]]. But we don't blame you, Isaac. . . . . Ray van Houton's TESSERACT ANNUAL will contain [[underline]]70[[end underline]] 8 1/2 xll pages, typewritten single-space! That certainly is a fan project part excellence. Besides numerous original articles and stories, Van Houten will reprint "[[underline]]The Planet of No Return[[end underline]], by J. Harvey Haggard, and [[underline]]Crawling Chaos[[end underline]] by H.P. Lovecraft. Price will be 35[[cent symbol]]. From all indications, Roy A. Squires is definitely dropping out of science fiction fandom. But Bob Tucker and Jack Darrow are back, so that compensates, with some left over, for good measure. . . . Beginning with Volume Two, number two, FANTASCIENCE DIGEST will adopt a mimeographed format, will contain thirty pages, and will continue to appear bi-monthly. It was intended that the First Anniversary Issue would be mimeographed, but plans fell through at the last moment. The editors intend to publish FANTASCIENCE DIGEST for the average inactive fan, and [[underline]]personalities in all forms[[end underline]] will be3 ignored. All the professional magazines will be reviewed in detail, and news columns will concern themselves with items of interest to readers of science fiction -- Reisenberg's AMAZING STORIES column is a good example of what we intend to publish. Incidentally, something the readers will probably dislike: the price will be boosted to fifteen cents. Consider- the bulk of the magazine, it should be worth it, however........RAM[?]
