4 FAN whose sole and only purpose to put over this convention and then automatically disband. Having no high and mighty ideas of remolding or reshaping fandom in its own image, the sponsoring organization is not likely to try any dirty work. It can't anyway for instead of being a closed and secretive conspiracy as was New Fandom, it's open and above-board. The name of the outfit is the lllini Fantasy Fictioneers. Its headquarters are in Chicago, its lenders are Mark Reinsberg, editor of AD ASTRA, Bob Tucker of LE ZOMBIE fame, and Richard Meyer, leading local fan. Cooperating with them are the other local bigwigs, W. Lawrence Hamling of STARDUST, Sully Roberds, and others. The two branches of the Chicago Science-Fictioneers are lending them all the local help they need. Active membership in l.F.F. is limited to residents of Illinois, but Associate membership is open to all and is urged upon all. The money received goes to offset the expenses and publicity, Fifty cents is the dues for which is received the official organ the ILLINI FANTASY FlCTIONEER, and a neat batch of stickers to spread the good word around on when you write letters. Write Richard Meyer at 3156 Cambridge Avenue, Chicago, 111, It is expected that the convention will be held Labor Lay at a centrally located hotel. The co-operation has been promised of the professional editors and plans are being made by all the leading fans to attend. Why not join us there?
