Mon sept 28 has been cold & windy since the rain father went to Mill to Elgin this fornoon I washed this fornoon & this afternoon we dug potatoes they was such big potatoes Will was at Elkader Maggie was here we baked bread & this Eve Mother & I pealed & canned a lot of applies & heat them to day & now Iam for bed Tues sept 29 A nice warm day Father Wallace & I dug potatoes all day & finished them Jim was home this Eve Mother is weaving Bill Quigles carpet Wed sept 30 has been cold & windy all day I ironed baked & helped thrash beans we have about 4 bushel Mother is over to Ogles this Eve Marys baby is sick & they sent for her I pealed apples & put them to dry this Eve & now good night Th Oct 1 A nice day we had a little
