THE FANTASITE 4 FANTA-NOTES by The Editor These notes are being typed directly on the stencil without the usual and necessary dummy copy alongside the typer. Consequently there are no even edges, the typing is utterly horrible, and the grammar is atrocious. You will just have to bear with us this time, however, because we want to arrive in Denver no later than July 3, and also want to have this copy of the magazine along with us. The entire magazine this time is being stenciled and mimeographed in the short space of two days and two nights, and we are even yet rather doubtful as to whether we will get the rest of the issue done in time. Our apologies for the rather messy technical work throughout this entire number, but as we have already stated, our time is exceedingly limited, and the hot weather in this section of the country isn't exactly conducive of a hard working spirit. Perhaps if it were not for the many hours of turning the mimeo crank on the part of semi-fan Rodman Allen, this issue would not be seeing the light of day in time for the Denvention. It is really glorious to sit back and type stencils while someone else condescendingly does one's mimeographing for him. Remind us to hire a permanent helper, won't you? By the by, we'd like to announce here that our summer address (until Sept.) is not Box 4105, Village Sta., Los Angeles, as mentioned in the last issue, but is 1710 ARIZONA AVE., SANTA MONICA, CALIF. Don't forget! And don't forget! it's San Francisco in '42! (We hope!) Oh yes, before we forget, Phil Schumann is going to publish a recorded fan mag, the first issue of which will be the second issue of CENTAUR. We were supposed to usurp a minute of same with our mellow voice, but unfortunately (or fortunately) we were unable to find any recording facilities. Brazier, Schumann, and probably someone else will speak on the first record. We heartily recommend it, and suggest that you send your thirty cents immediately to Schumann if you don't want to miss out on the forthcoming number. Tge address is 2767 N. 41st St., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Only twenty-five copies will be made,s so you can see that it would be advisable to hurry! Another apologie is due. This time for the size of the issue. It would seem that we had planned a forty page number, for the Denvention. But alas, the time element again intervened. As I type this, it is uncertain as to whether the issue will be twenty or thirty pages. We have enough material for forty pages on hand, for once, but the fates are against us. Perhaps next time. . . . Well, i guess we will cease bothering you with this drivel now. Splrfsk! There is absolutely no truth to the outrageous rumor that Yngvi is not a louse!
