RETRIBUTION By Richard Wilson, Jr. ********************************************************** Extracts from the diary of Martin G. Rallman, M.D.: August 3, 19__ So they think I am insane! In just one month I am to be sent to an institution where I may "seek to recover" my "mental balance." It was unwise of my brother to allow the psychiatrist to call him at home. I was enable to hear the whole conversation on the extension phone. Because the forces I deal in are so far above the comprehension of their puerile intelligences, I . . . But no! It is not that alone. My private fortune! Vinton has always been jealous of my successes. And this is his #### chance to retaliate for the imagined hurts he has suffered. If I die, or am pronounced insane, my millions revert to him--my only living relative. Shelley, my pet chimpanzee, has just poked his head into my room. He is an inquisitive little thing. In a few days--as soon as the Markley tubes arrive--perhaps he will cease to be just a pet and serve a more useful purpose. August 7. The tubes have arrived.
