Dear Mr. Meyerson,

We have this date received a copy of your letter to Mr. Robert Humphrey, Program and Planning Commissioner of the Iowa State Highway Commission, inquiring as to the commission's action with respect to the re-routing of Highway No. 61 through Fort Madison, Iowa.

We enclose a copy of the news article covering the statement which Miss Harper advises me was read by a member of the branch. Though I have previously advised you of my release of the statement to the press after forwarding a copy to Mr. Coupal, the director of the Iowa State Highway Commission.

In any event, the statement is now a part of the commission's record at the public hearing. We will keep you advised as to developments as they are made available to us.

Again, I must reiterate the statement was beautiful.
