Meyerson Assistant General Counsel NAACP Special Contribution Fund 1790 Broadway New York, New York 10019 Dear Mr. Meyerson: This is in response to your recent letters regarding the proposed relocation of U.S. Highway #61 through Fort Madison, Iowa. We share in your concern for the impact of this proposed project on minorities. This office has recommended to the Federal Highway Administration not to provide funds or grant approval for the project as proposed. Iowa State officials will be advised of this recommendation.
