Dear Mr. Frazier:

The staff of the Fort Madison Public Works Department has prepared a response to your November 15, 1974 letter concerning the rerouting of U.S. 61 through Fort Madison. EAch of the four alternatives that you listed were analysed. Our response concludes with a recommendation that a possible compromise include a combination of numbers 2 and 4 of your letter. We were pleased with your letter outlining certain possible solutions.

I cannot stress to you enough the need to resolve this matter at the earliest possible date. the parties involved in this situation have responsibility not only to the people living on route 4A, but to all of the people in Fort Madison, to find an answer to the City's transportation problem as soon as possible.

We will await your reply.
