We, the undersigned, are formally protesting the relocation of US Highway 61, through the City of Fort Madison, iowa. As concerned citizens of the area, residents of the City of Fort Madison, and regular users of the Highway, we feel that the logical relocation route would be a By-Pass to the north of the City. For this reason and those stated on the attached sheet, this protest is being made to the Iowa Highway Commission and the City of Fort Madison, so of the US Highway, we request their evaluation and investigation of any plans which would call for relocation of the Highway, through the City.
