WHAT RELOCATION PAYMENTS MEAN

Home Owners and Tenants
1. Moving Expenses: Any person displaced from his dwelling may elect to receive a scheduled moving allowance in lieu of actual moving expenses not to exceed a maximum amount of $300 based on the following schedule, plus a dislocation allowance of $200.

2. Replacement Housing Payment:

Renters
An individual or family who has lawfully occupied a rental unit or sleeping room for at least 90 days prior to the start of negotiations for the acquisition for such dwelling is eligible for a rental replacement housing payment, up to an amount but not exceeding $4,000, if such person or family elects to rent replacement housing. Such payment shall be determined by the difference of the amount necessary to rent a comparable dwelling for the next four years and the amount of rent presently paid.
An individual or family who has lawfully occupied a rental unit or sleeping room for at least 90 days prior to the start of negotiations for such dwelling may elect to purchase replacement housing. Such person or family is eligible for an amount up to but not exceeding
