WHAT RELOCATION ADVISORY ASSISTANCE IS It is the intent of the Iowa State Highway Commission to provide a Relocation Assistance Advisory Program for all eligible persons whenever real property is acquired for highway purposes. The Commission cooperates to the maximum extent feasible with federal or local agencies to assure that such eligible persons receive the maximum assistance available to them. The Relocation Assistance Advisory Program includes such services as may be necessary to: 1. Determine the needs of eligible person for relocation assistance. 2. Provide current information on the availability, prices and rentals of comparable decent, safe and sanitary housing, and of comparable commercial properties and locations for displaced businesses. 3. Assure that, within a reasonable length of time, prior to displacement, there will be decent, safe and sanitary housing available within the financial means of persons displaced by highway projects. 4. Assist all eligible persons whose business or farm operation is being relocated in becoming established in a suitable replacement location. 5. Supply information concerning federal and state housing programs; and other federal or state programs offering assistance to eligible persons. 6. Provide other advisory services to eligible persons in order to minimize hardships to such persons in adjusting to relocation.
