SPATIUM LETTERS ............................................................... Dear Sirs: Got your journal the other day. I don't know why. A whole long list of reasons why but none of them checked. This is twice now this has happened. Why am I even writing? I owe 13 people letters now....haven't touched this typer since July 4th (long hangover) and have N3F biz to do, etc. But I am a fan. That's why I'm writing. Which is little reason at all. Now to tear your mag to bits. Hece: cover is the same as the one on ish I got before. with Cheney around, this is rank sacrilige (or however it is spelt. Make his (cat-o'-nine-tails) do a cover each issue. No Editor's page. This is abnormal. Almost everyone rants away about something for a page or two. Fix this. Reluctantly, I will say the stenciling and inking is good. Easy to read. Even more what the letters say is even better. Pretty good fiction. Kennedy's at least. His was good. Hollister says it again, in re Merritt. Autobiog not very enlightening. His retrospect piece....moth-earen. Ron Stone has a fairly good story. The ending redeemed it. Surprised even me....me, understand....as I love these surprise ending stories...am a cornersewer of them, write them, am jaded by them (of them). But you did okay. Altho you could've...well, never mind. Oh, yes, Hal's pic was good. Glad you had him here once. Club emblem is very good. Yours, Ed Cox Lubec, Maine Well there is not much to say here. We got those boxes on the contents page in case all the other zines have them. Each issue despite our best intentions, we forget to mark all but a few of them. Editor Dear Sir: Your CNSFS clubzine rec'd by me, for the N.O.S.F.S., and I thank you. However I regret to inform you that NOSFS has as yet developed no fen with sufficient equipment to get out a fmz. Harry Moore New Orleans, La. Greetings: Thanks for the issue of SPATIUM sent to the Windsor S-F group, but I fear it has never been, is not now, and ne'er will be, an actuality. The name grew out of the post-con enthousim of CanFen to revive the defunct Canadian S-F Association, by amalgamating all local clubs into a national organization. C. S. Metchette Windsor, Ontario We are sorry to hear that those clubs are not active. But with the coming boom in Science Fiction, due when books from the big houses, and the movies are released will no doubt pull your clubs out of the doldrums. This winds up the letter section for this issue. We hope you enjoy this addition to our magazine. Of course the interest of the department is entirely dependent upon you readers .Let us get those letters in from you, and we will print the most interesting ones, complimentary and otherwise.
