It may, however, be of more significance to measure ((1/v)(d)(N)) the spectrum of P. i.e., in a given volume of space, what is the distribution of particles of velocity v. More true specification of the radiation. There is of course no difference in the extreme [relativistic?] region. But for protons below 1 Bev, there begins to be a discrimination again lower energy particles plus to v becoming smaller, so that the flux (pv) falls off more rapidly than p does.
