19 June 1955 ￣ Thought on a way to "directly" prove the existence of the Chapman - Störmer ring current. (Suggested by a recent discussion with John Simpson): The "zones of precipitation" (or "zones of impact" of particles from the sun of various magnetic rigidities are being used in present work for the establishment of the magnitude and rigidity spectrum of the solar component of cosmic rays. One should re-do the orbits for the case of the ring current. Then conceivably one could hope to see a different set of impact
