Saturday 9 July 1955 Received phone call from Frank McDonald from Minneapolis: On Thursday 7 July flew his Cerenkov-Scintillator gear. Rose to 99,500 feet then drifted down to 96,000 feet. Seven hours at altitude - Recovered about 150 miles from launching point. Has developed all of the film. Appears to be solid, clean record, throughout. Hugh Anderson also flew on Thursday. Rough take off. Think antenna fouled up. very poor telemetering - no useful results. McDonald now plans to fly at International Falls on the 22nd of July (+ -)
