Talked to Gus Ebel in O.N.R. (a) Asked that he arrange with Bureau of Ord to have Allegany send us three of the igniters for test. O.K. (b) Asked that he expedite Ludwig's permission & travel orders for expedition. (c) Discussed Stehling's going. (Told Ebel the story, favored but did not advocate) (d) Described the uncertainties of my plans and inquired if possible for me to go from Norfolk to Argentia only to get things rolling - i.e. one Deacon, one Loki, and perhaps one two stage. Ebel thought O.K. (Ship will stop at Argentia for fuel) (e) Loki plans & two stage possibility ! Ebel interested ------ (f) No further news on sailing date. (i.e. 10 - 20 September)
