No information whatever given in dispatches on nature of the results. -------------------------------------- George Ludwig gave me a preliminary summary on Arctic results: NaI crystals worked fine ! and detected the soft radiation. Appear to quite likely be ELECTRONS ! ~1 Mev & smaller in crystals. Also appear to be [callinated? calibrated?] vertically. -- Rate in crystal ~ 1/8 of rate in G.M. tube (unshielded).
