------ Ernie Ray has been exploring the "neighborhood" high speed computer possibilities for calculating impact zones of cosmic rays -- including the effects of a ring current. Best prospect (3 April) seems to be Collins Radio Company -- They have an "IBM 650" in Dr. McCoy's research group. -- It is in the direct charge of Mr. John Pettit whom Ray finds to be a very alert and able young man. Pettit is quite interested in the problem and offers to do it for us in evenings and weekends and without cost. Looks like a splendid arrangement. --------
