3/21/1957 Donald Simanek physics sophomore major indicated an interest in and willingness to go on summer arctic expedition. I offered $250 + travel for two month period. 3/21/1957 Professor V. E.Suomi of Wisconsin plus their senior instrument maker and a graduate research assistant (formerly with Winzen) visited today to get technical details on our satellite techniques, particularly on circuits and magnetic tape recorder design. They would also like to fly some preliminary apparatus on a Hawk (or two) during our summer expedition.
