12/13/1957 Bill [Mange? spelling?] of the I.G.Y. Secretariat called today, saying that at the recent meeting of the I.G.Y. Panel on Aurorae and Air Glow it had been proposed that I be invited to become a member of this panel. Question: Would I accept? I asked how often they met remarking that I was not looking for work at present! He replied that they had met recently and planned the next meeting in conjunction with the K.G.U. annual meetings in Washington in later April. I expressed my appreciation of being invited and indicated my willingness to serve!
