3/5/58 A second Jupiter - C satellite Firing was made today. The vehicle was identical with the previous one (31 January 1958). The payload was the State University of Iowa - J.P.L. combination including the State University of Iowa tape recorder & command receiver. -- i.e. our full experiment. Launched at 12:28 C.S.T. Early Dovap velocities favorable. I called Gil Reid at I.G.Y. at 1547 No news on coming up on Pacific coast yet Zeigler at S.E.L. in Fort Monmouth had received good telemetering signals during the early part of the flight.
