3/22/58 In a call from Pasadena on 3/20 George Ludwig advised that the channel 5 subcarrier was no longer switching but was sitting on one frequency. Presumably the high voltage supply or the G.M. tube or the scaler had quit! Also advised that Explorer III will be fired on Wednesday the 26th of March (two days sooner than previously planned) Will be flown without antenna whiskers, He will be staying at Coral Sands Motel.
