8/31/1958 On Friday 8/29 I had a long conference with George Ludwig and Carl McIlwain on the general problem of our future program in satellite and rocket field. The following are main points (a) During past academic year neither Ludwig nor McIlwain has been able to make any headway on their academic (i.e. course work) program toward their Ph.D.s. This has been due to very stringent demands of their research programs.
