10/11/1958 The Air Force's Thor Able moon rocket (9:30 AM note) was fired early this morning with apparent success. (Firing ~ 2 AM?) It carries in its payload, among other things, one of our Anton 706 ionization chambers complete with McIlwain's logorithmic electrometer -- Dynamic range 1 to (10 exponent 6) r/hour.
